Photograph what you feel is urgent, and what you are excited to talk about. Then go out and talk about it.

Opening July 7 at Station Independent Projects in New York City.
I’m pleased to announce that my photo, Barber and Beauty, was selected to appear in the upcoming Station Independent Projects exhibition, WE: AMEricans. Curator Ruben Natal-San Miguel created a show of established photographers alongside emerging talent.
Ruben’s vision for the show is defined as “WE: AMEricans – who we truly are as Americans: people, objects and places from all walks of life, from this great nation, currently challenged by a climate of racism, anger, political tensions and disparaging, the highest income and social inequality, xenophobia, homophobia, misogyny, police brutality, and terrorism.”
If you’re in NYC between July 7 and August 16, 2016, stop by Station Independent Projects gallery and visit the show.
THANK YOU Ruben for the opportunity to exhibit my work.

I have an ongoing portfolio of images that I create that fall into the exploratory category of “sketchbook”. It’s a place for me to flesh out ideas and see what I like, where I’ve succeeded and where I’ve failed. Most of all, it’s a place to shoot everything I see and learn more about myself and my art.
Following are some of the current items in the Sketchbook that caught my eye, and made me take note of my observations.

THANK YOU to everyone who ordered my newly published book: Larry Torno Photo: Volume One. Your generosity and support are greatly appreciated.
The best comment I received so far is,
“Volume 2? My credit card is standing by . . . “
This is a 64-page publication featuring 50 select images from four portfolio series: Midwest Cliché, The Yellow Chair, Pan-O-Vision, and Barbie.
With this book I’m hoping to start a new venture where I can share my vision and present representative images from each of the collections.
You can preview the book or order a copy for yourself (and maybe a friend) by going to http://www.blurb.com/b/6979882-larry-torno-photo-volume-one
THANK YOU and enjoy!
P. S. Your responses have encouraged me to get started on a concept for Volume Two.
Coming sooner or later.
